The coalition of seven emirates, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is located in the southeast of the Arabian Cape in Southeast Asia on the Persian Gulf. The UAE flanks Oman and Saudi Arabia. Abu Dhabi is the capital and the second largest emirate of Abu Dhabi. Prior to 1971, the UAE was commonly known as the Trucial States or even Trucial Oman with reference to the treaty between the several Arab Sheikhs and the United Kingdom. The term which was used at that time in order to refer to the emirates of the area was the ‘Pirate Coast’ in the 18th to early 20th century. The political system of the UAE is based on 1971 Constitution and consists of several complex governing bodies. Arab is the official language and Islam is the religion practiced. The UAE is fortunate to have the world’s sixth largest oil reserves. With one of the most developed economies of the Middle East, it presently stands on the thirty-sixth position among the largest economies at market exchange rates. The country has a high per capita gross domestic product of $ 54,607 according to IMF. The UAE has also been recognized as a high income developing economy by IMF.
Grown to a cosmopolitan capital, Abu Dhabi lies on the T-shaped Island protruding into the Persian Gulf. The city is the seat of the UAE Government, and also the home to the Royal Family of the Emirati.
One of the seven emirates of UAE, Dubai is located on the south of Persian Gulf on the Arabian Peninsula. Property, tourism and financial services are the main sources of revenue generation.
The third largest emirate of the UAE, Sharjah is the only emirate to have land on not only Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman.
Ajman is located on the Arabian Gulf, controlling Mastful and Manama which are two small inland enclaves primarily agricultural. Ajman, in the UAE is the smallest in area.
The emirate rests in the north of the UAE. With an area of 750 square kilometers, Umm-AL-Quwain is the least populated emirate of the country.
In the southwest of the Persian Gulf, Ras-Al-Khaimah borders Oman in the northern part of the UAE. With the population of about 300,000, the emirate covers an area of 656 square kilometers.
The only emirate on the Gulf of Oman, Fujairah is the fifth largest emirate of the UAE. It is circa totally mountainous. It flaunts the highest average rainfall in the whole year of all the emirates of the UAE which allows farmers the farmers to grow crops conveniently.
