It was being built by Shah Jahan, the Mughal Emperor in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz. The plan of this building was prepared by a council of architects from India, Central Asia, Persia and beyond. 20,000 workmen were employed daily to complete this mausoleum. This entire structure took 22 years to get completed at a cost of 40,000,000 rupees. This great structure is equally constructed from every angle even from Agra rooftops and across the river. Moreover, Taj Mahal is one of its kinds.

India Gate: India Gate is standing high in memory of great heroes who gave up their lives for the sake of their country. This structure is located at the other end of Rajpath. India Gate is a 42 meter structure also designed by Lutyens. This war memorial has the names of Indian soldiers who died in World War I inscribed on it. An eternal flame known as Amar Jawan Jyoti which is being enlightened since years paying a tribute to all those Unknown Soldiers. This is a great architectural marvel stands on a low base of red Bharatpur stone and on top of the tower India is inscribed on both sides.
Lotus Temple: The renowned Lotus Temple is located in South Delhi and is one of the major tourist attractions in New Delhi. The significance of this temple is that it is being designed in a shape of a half-opened lotus flower. People of all kinds of religious faiths come and visit this temple. It embraces an independent religion called Bahai faith. A great architecture is being incorporated offering a blend of modern and traditional engineering expertise. A Canadian architect Fariborz Sahba designed this temple surrounding sparkling pools. It was inaugurated in the year 1986 and the temple remains closed on Mondays.

Hawa Mahal: This major landmark in Jaipur is a great tourist attraction. The literal meaning of this name is Palace of Winds. This is a pyramid shaped façade giving you the glimpse of the Mughal architecture. It speaks the glory of the royal family which stayed there many years ago.
